Below are some key dates for the fast approaching e-Commerce holiday season.
November 7, 2016 – Deadline for Inventory to fulfillment center for Black Friday and Cyber Monday
This deadline could be considered the most important one to Amazon FBA sellers all year. Remember, though, this is a deadline, so you can ship your items to a Fulfillment Center anytime between now and November 7, 2016. Just be aware of inventory levels, product demand and FBA storage fees.
November 25, 2016 – Black Friday
Black Friday isn’t just big for brick & mortar stores. Shoppers spent $4.45 billion last year on Thanksgiving and Black Friday without stepping into a store. It seems shoppers are filling up their stomachs and e-shopping carts at the same time.
November 28, 2016 – Cyber Monday
One could view Cyber Monday as Black Friday’s little brother. But the made-up e-commerce holiday doesn’t seem to be so little anymore. Americans spent more than $3 billion last Cyber Monday, which was a 16% increase from 2014. And if that wasn’t enough, Adobe reported that “Cyber Monday had the most positive social sentiment with 56% relating joy or admiration, versus 40% for Black Friday.”
Cyber Monday is only going to be larger this year. So every Amazon seller needs to be prepared to satisfy and delight shoppers. The easiest way to accomplish this is by not stocking out!
December 2, 2016 – Deadline to send inventory to fulfillment centers for delivery by Christmas
OK, Black Friday and Cyber Monday are behind you. Take a deep breath…now exhale. It’s time to make sure all of your inventory has arrived at an Amazon fulfillment center. Bring it on Christmas!
(Amazon) December 21, 2016 – Last day for Prime two-day shipping for delivery by Christmas
If Prime was an acronym, I think the “P” would stand for Procrastinate. Expect today to be one of the largest shopping days of the year—especially for Prime members getting that last-minute gift.
December 22, 2016 – Last day for one-day shipping for delivery by Christmas
This is a great time to move any remaining inventory that hasn’t sold. Look into running any last-minute promotions for today and tomorrow.
December 23, 2016 – Last day for next-day shipping for delivery by Christmas
Same thing as yesterday. Price competitively and try to move as much inventory as possible. Don’t expect as much shopping after Christmas.
